If you have not well traveled in the macaron world, then salted caramel macarons are a safe and good start! The salty caramel makes the macaron something other than a sugar bomb.
In this macaron I have used the basic recipe for the macarons and the caramel sauce recipe. When you have filled the macarons with the sauce, sprinkle a little salt on top before adding the second macaroon shell.
